ANCHAR-fastest submarine in the world
During development of this submarine was forbidden to use existing technology and equipment. These conditions have increased enormously the cost of submarine and sailors started to call it by nickname "Golden Fish". However in result it was a unique submarine, which has no equivalent elsewhere. In 1969 K-162 was ready. During the trial trip at 80% power, reactors developed speed 42 knots. In 1971 at full power it produced steady speed of 44.7 knots (87.8 km / h), which is record for submarines.
